I took out the A/C compressor put a new alternator and serpentine belt and now even with a jump my truck will not start. It turns over but never actually starts. Any ideas?

Put on the new bypass pulley and belt. The belt is put on right. Also put on a new alternator.

No place to reconnect the two plugs that were on the old compressor could that keep the engine from starting?

For a crank/no-start, you have to check for spark, fuel pressure, and injector pulses. If one of those is missing, that is the circuit that needs to be diagnosed. If all three are missing, there are two sensor circuits that need to be checked. You also need to read and record the diagnostic fault codes. Do you know how to do that yourself?

Hi JOSH RAMEY,

If you decide you would like to conduct the scan yourself here is a link to an article that features written step by step instructions and pictures explaining how to do the scan yourself. Also, I have included a link to our YouTube channel with a how to video on code scanning.

This is applicable even if your check engine light is not on.

Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com

Once you have the codes please get back to us so that we can further assist you. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for visiting 2CarPros.com.

Kindest regards,
