How do I route the new shorter belt without AC compressor and without the belt rubbing itself on the tensioner? No power steering pump.

Hi,

I'm not sure if you have a 3.0L or the 3.5L. So, I went with the 3.0L.

If you look below, I attached the belt routing for the 3.0. There is an additional belt for the water pump not shown. Is that the design you have? If it is, I truly see no way to bypass it.

Is the clutch locked up or the compressor? If it is the compressor or clutch, you should be able to remove the clutch coil and reinstall the pulley with the bearing only. There shouldn't be any resistance.

Let me know.

Yes, the 3.0 and your correct, water and oil pump are on the driver's side. Can I not just remove the AC compressor all together and shorter belt with maybe flip the tensioner upwards some? And it totally seized, destroying the belt. A Bypass pulley isn't an option at 179.00 (that's if you can even find one).

Hi,

I don't see how it would work. Here is something you could try. If you remove the compressor clutch coil and reinstall the pulley, it may spin freely. There is a bearing in the pulley assembly. As long as the bearing is okay, it should turn. If, on the other hand, it is locked even when the ac is off, the bearing is likely the issue.

Let me know your thoughts.
