The air still blows and blows hot air when the dial is switched to it. But it's not cold at all.

I believe the compressor might need to be changed. But this is my first time DYI on HVAC.

The compressor has made some weird squealing noise before while the A/C was turned on. But not anymore.

A local mechanic did connect an A/C kit to it and told me my low pressure was high from my system and said I might have a clog. But I want to make sure myself rather than spending a lot of money when I don't have to.

Yep, good call. The first thing we need to do is see if the compressor clicks on when the A/C system is activated. If so then we need to get a set of pressure gauges hooked up to read the pressures. I can help you fix the problem but please go over these guides first:

If you turn the system on and feel the outlet tube from the firewall to the compressor it should be cold. Please go over these guides and get back to us.
