I need to know how to install the linkage which is two pieces of plastic that connect the actuator motor and the selector motor. Oh sorry, I forgot to let you know that this is on the driver's side next to and above the gas pedal. Both electric motors are good. I just can't figure out how the two pieces of plastic go back in while in alignment with the two black pieces attached to the plenum. They are black and both have what looks like a track through the center.

Hi,

I'm not going to lie; you have me confused. The air temperature actuator mounts right to the HVAC box and is gear driven. I attached a picture below of what I believe you are referring to. Please confirm that for me. Also, is it possible for you to upload a picture of what you are working on so I can see it? One more thing. Does the vehicle have automatic or manual climate control?

Let me know.

Your picture and explanation are in the right area the motor above attaches to a piece of plastic which is attached to 2 more pieces those are the items of inquiry. Yes the climate control is automatic no it's not digital or split I have 3 knobs one for fan one for hot cold and one to select air flow (feet, defrost, face, etc.). There are no cables just electric wires and the two motors which move the plastic behind them to select hot cold and air flow. I've tried hours of research on the subject and have had no luck. I even bought 3 different repair books with no avail.

All of the blown up images just refer to the pieces as the linkage but no instructions on how to install or replace.

Hi,

I hate to ask this, but is it possible for you to take a pic of what you are seeing? Is the linkage seen once the actuator is removed? Everything I'm finding is showing a different design that what it sounds like you have. I even have one that has a cable control air mix door.

Also, let me know the production date. It should be on the driver's door or door frame. Maybe it is an early or late model and something was different.

The two white pieces are the parts I need instructions for they go behind the two motors and the metal piece goes over top of them all and the black piece goes where the floor vent comes out.

Hi,

I have nothing specific to the pic you attached. From what I can tell, it is the actuator linkage for the mode door and not the blend air door. Take a look at the pic below. Is the part I circled what you are dealing with?

If it is, I will have to work together with you to get it back together. Honestly, there is nothing I can find in a manual.

OMG yes! Thank you for understanding, and all I really need to know is what settings I need my dials to be on for the big plastic piece to line up with the top motor bit if you want to do a step by step break down then by all means please. I am pretty mechanically inclined and will understand the instructions given. Also when I get that back together will my blower motor fuse quit blowing when turn it on? (Fan: hi, temp: cold/with it pushed in for A/C, and selector on max A/C) three dials left to right fan speed/push for air circulate (the little loop arrow), temperature dial/push for A/C, and selector dial/push for rear defrost. It won't blow the fuse unless I put on them settings, goes like a bad out of heck on any other combination of the three dials.

When you reinstall it, have the mode set to where it was when you removed the assembly. Let me know. As far as the fuse, did it blow prior to your working on the vehicle? Which specific fuse?

Okay, i'm not the one that took it out but I'll just switch it until I get it to line up. It is the 15 amp mini fuse under the driver side dash. I believe it is the second or third one from the bottom on the left side of the fuse box. It's never blown in the 3 years I've owned, but I blew probably 12 of them in one day flipping the black levers down below to see if I could get them to line up to run my air. So right now I just don't have a fuse in it and I will try to get it all connected again tomorrow and let you know if it works. Again thank you for being able to understand and help.

You are very welcome. I have to be honest, I have no idea why they don't show that in the directions. Let me know if you get it back together and the outcome.

Take care,
Joe

I have it back together and stopped blowing fuses I just have to tweak with the alignment of the motor and that plastic piece a bit I think it's off by two controls, but unfortunately I still don't have air. I've checked the Freon levels just to make sure wasn't under or over pressure. And I don't see the compressor clutch engaging but that might fix itself once I get it all aligned right. Fingers crossed, lol.

If the compressor isn't turning on, what were the A/C high and low pressure readings? Is there an indicator in the vehicle showing the A/C is turned on?

I think it's not kicking in because that plastic piece stops about half way through it's turn because I do t have it lined up right yet. And the high low lines were in the green on one of those recharge valves you buy with the r134 cans it was around 40 for both. And I have to manually hit the A/C button on the dial for hot cold for it to turn on and it was lit up but nothing cold but on the plus side it wasn't hot like before tho so I'm getting there.

Okay, that reads low side pressure. If the outside temperature when you installed it was between 70° F and 80°F, that is good. The high side pressure should be somewhere between 150 and 210. Don't connect that can to the high side. If we get the compressor to kick on and it isn't cooling, then we need to get an AC manifold set to get the readings from both high and low sides.

Let me know.

I have no way of being able to read the high side unfortunately. And I haven't messed with it again yet. I will post again on here when I do though. Thanks again.

So new update: I have to replace the compressor I think, how do I do it so I don't have to go to a shop for vacuum pumping and recharge?

Okay, everything is done. Now I just had to replace the bearing and pulley assembly didn't have to open the lines. But it's still warm air and now the clutch stays engaged is this do to low Freon since I had mistakenly let my buddy hold the low pressure valve stem like piece and let out all the pressure? Or did I mess something up by doing that? Any help would be great. Thanks
