AC pressure reads in the red. Not sure if needs refrigerant or compressor or fuse problem.

Good afternoon.

Are you using a gauge set that reads the high and low pressure?

What side are you reading?

Does the compressor clutch engage?

Any work done recently?

Okay, you will need a set of gauges that can read both the high side and low side pressures.

Without the car running, the high and low sides should be equal and about the same as the temperature outside.

Then when the engine is running and the clutch engages, the high side should be 2 times ambient temperature plus 15%. The low side should be 25-30 pounds rock solid.

You can rent a set of gauges at a parts store for this test.
