Air conditioner blowing hot air

Okay, so the compressor works but you only get hot air regardless of where you put the temperature control?

Can you still select defrost/vent/floor? Does the recirculate selector still work?
Does this have manual AC dial that you turn to select hot/cold and fan speeds or do you just set a temperature and push buttons for the fan speeds and it does the rest?

My thinking is that it is the air mix controls. It is what directs air through the heater or AC cores depending on the temperature desired. But they differ a lot in which type of system you have and are not fun to repair in either case.

You will want to verify for sure that the AC is still operational and is creating cold air that just is not getting into the car. Do the AC pipes get cold and stay that way?
