Had to put a new A/C system on the car. The old compressor had metal shavings, so I replaced the compressor expansion valve, pressure switch and lines and condenser. now the clutch won't kick in, can't seem to find issue has new relay also and checked fuses.

Hi,

Have you checked fuse 20 in the under-hood fuse box? If not, confirm there is power to and from it.

Here is a link you may find helpful:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Next, at the relay, one of the connector pins (either 30 or 87) should have power at all times. Check that. On the opposite side of the relay, pins 85 and 86, one will only have power with the engine running and the AC requested. Check that.

Let me know what you find. See pic below.

Take care,

Joe

Yes, it will kick the compressor on if I bypass relay, so I changed the relay and no luck, but I found someone has been in the A/C system before after removing condenser and the condenser looks fine.no clogs new expansion valve. Have not swapped the condensor thermostat yet or control panel.

Hi,

If you are able to jump the secondary side of the relay and the compressor engages, the problem is on the primary side. Are you getting power and a ground reference there?

Let me know.

Hi,

I agree, but the P0533 may be preventing the relay from actuating. I attached the diagnostics below specific to the code. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to know you got it fixed and things are working again.

Regardless, take care, and feel free to come back anytime in the future.
