ABS wheel speed sensor installation

No, they do not need to be pressed in. They are tight but it sounds like you have corrosion build up in the hole so I would run a wire brush on a drill to clean out the hole and open it up a bit.

You need the sensor to be tight but it should just push in and then be held in place with a bolt.

Hi,

Chances are there is corrosion where it is placed. It should fit snug, but you should be able to easily install it. The retaining bolt on the steering knuckle holds it in place.

Try this. Take a small piece of sandpaper (something like 320 grit) and wrap it around a pencil or screwdriver. Place it in the opening and gently move it around so that is cleans off any corrosion.
