Am familiar with these abs actuator pumps going out, in most prius, and other toyota and lexus vehicles. Usually accompanied by a weird brake pedal feeling. This one feels fine, lights go off after 12 miles of deleting. Usually there are several codes tied up together, but this one only has the c1391. Are there any other reasons for this code other than a bad internal leak in the actuator?

Hi,

That code is specific to a leak or what is perceived as a leak. A faulty accumulator pressure sensor can cause it as well. Chances are there is a leak in the accumulator, but to be sure, it needs to be checked.

If you look at the attachments below, they provide the diagnostics for this code. Take a look through them and let me know if they help.

If you find it needs replaced, the remaining pics below are the removal and install directions specific to this vehicle.

If you have other questions, let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Also, there are 4 ABS relays, which to remove during the process? The two big ones next to each other?

Hi,

If you look below, I highlighted the relays to remove. Also, the remaining pics are for the automated bleed.

Starting with pic 12, the directions for the initialization start.

I hope this helps.

Take care,

Joe
