Hi I'm Linwood. A couple of weeks after a hard front dive in a huge pot hole my abs, traction control and brake lights stay on and together. Sometimes they don't come on when I first start the van, but when I begin moving inside of 30 seconds they click on in unison! I'm told I won't be able to get a passing inspection(6/2025) because of the brake light being on always even though it isn't even engaged. Thing is, parking brake is fine, vehicle runs fine, but a mechanic said its an electrical issue and they can't help. I've heard 1k to 10k for repair and I won't have use of my van for 3 or more days. I could rent a vehicle but for how long? We got this one vehicle and we not rich - what do you suggest? Please?
. Maybe I could do it myself.
(If I replace the abs sensor cords, could that help.)

Hello,
It could very well be an electrical issue, or an expensive one, however the fact that the lights only come on after you start moving points in the direction of the ABS sensor at the wheel. Do you have access to a scan tool that can read live data? They are relatively inexpensive on Amazon. What I would do is monitor the live data showing the wheel rotational speed and see which sensor is not communicating, as well as scan the CAN system for codes. If the light is on, there will be codes stored in the memory. Once we have some direction, I can definitely help you further.

Let us know,
William
