So I got the code for why my ABS and traction control lights were on. It came back with code c1035 rear ABS speed sensor. So, I took the old one off, put the new one on and I can’t get the wire harness to click back on. Every time I think it's on I tug on it and it just comes off even with the lock down. What is going on? What could make it so I can’t get it back on? Mind you I don’t have a lift or have the jeep on jack stands so there is very little room, but I don’t see why it won’t go on, please help me.

If the wiring connector is not fully seated, it will make a bad connection and come undone.

C1035 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit

If the sensor is aftermarket this can be an issue due to the low-quality sensor. Here is the correct way to install the rear ABS wheel speed sensor, also, be sure to clear the codes once the job is completed. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes.

So, I had to replace the wire connector because the harness wasn't clicking in, after I replaced the ABS speed sensor. Anyways I get the connector spliced into the old wires and hook everything back together. I scan it again and the code still comes up, I try to cancel it out, but the ABS and traction control lights are still on. What is going on? Why wouldn't the lights clear? What could be the problem?

Does this Jeep have big tires? If the bearing hub goes out it will cause the sensor not to read the reluctor wheel. This is a circuit error so let's test the wiring from the sensor to the ABS control module. It is only two wires, here is a guide to help and I have included the ABS system wiring diagrams and have marked the wires you should test.
