Hello,

The rear ABS sensor has broken (I am waiting on a report to confirm what about it has broken) and I cannot buy a new part as they have discontinued it! If I were to tell you what in the sensor has broken would you be able to fix it?

Many thanks,

Stephanie

The ABS sensor usually consists of a toothed ring and a magnet enclosed within a coil. The contact between the ring and the magnet induces an electric field due to which a signal is generated. This signal is then transformed into a digital signal and sent to the ABS controller. The controller then determines the speed of each wheel accordingly. The actual sensor is not repairable, you may have to try and source a second-hand unit from wreckers on check online of second-hand parts.
