Out of no where ABS light comes on. Goes on and off for couple of days. Now stays on all the time. I was wondering if low brake pads could be a culprit (my mechanic told me a few weeks ago my back brake pads were getting low). Have not had money yet to change. Was hoping I am not looking at a major expense. Any thoughts?

Not likely to be the pads, that vehicle does not have pad life sensors. More likely is a bad ABS speed sensor wire or connector. A scan of the ABS system will tell you what it thinks is the problem. Broken wires are common.
