I have a 2005 Nissan Tiida hatchback. On my dashboard the brake light is on, the ABS light is on, the speedometer doesn't work, and the odometer reading doesn't change. What could be the problem?

Hi,

More than likely you have an issue with a wheel speed sensor or the ABS module itself. Either way, we need to start with getting the codes from the computer.

Just make sure that if you are using a code reader it can communicate with the ABS module. If it can't then it will return no codes which is not true if you have both those lights on.

Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks.

Okay. These could all be related but I think you have two issues. First the P0500 and U1001 are related. The U1001 is most likely causing the P0500. See the first attachment.

The only way that this is all related is if the ABS control unit is failed. That would cause it to not communicate on the CAN network and set all the wheel speed sensors like it has. I would start with the wheel speed circuit code that I attached. This is the last 4 attachments. If that leads to and ABS replacement then that may fix all the others. If not we need to re-evaluate what returned and go from there.
