Above 3,000 rpm engine cuts out

Hi, my mates diesel 1.6 turbo car runs and ticks over sweet but once you hit 3,000 rpm's it cuts out. so re start and it is okay again even on motorway it runs great. please help....

Can I ask if there are any check engine or other warning lights on? Does this car have a DPF on it?

Hi Ken, there are no lights on the dash.

Let start by running the codes because it sounds like a computer issue but we need to be sure before replacing the PCM.
