Hey, when i am driving my radiator fan kicks on and runs for a couple of minutes then cuts off. my temperature gauge is in the middle but sometimes it goes to hot then goes right back to normal temperature. would you know what the problem might be? my car just started doing this.

This is a rather complicated two speed fan system. I am not sure what you could possibly know about how the fan is operating while you are driving. There are a number of different situations that trigger fan operation at differing speeds. About the only reason a fan would kick on in a moving vehicle would be due to AC or defroster operation that engaged the AC compressor. There is a possibility you could be missing the low speed but you would need a bidirectional scan tool to test any of that. https://www.2carpros.com/images/external/212348198.jpg

I am not talking about my AC fan i am talking about the radiator fan. i run the AC or heater at the same time and hear two different fans at the same time.

They are one in the same. The radiator fans operate for AC purposes.

I know yesterday i did not really run the AC or heater and the cooling fans kept coming on. is it because my engine is running too hot?

No, that is what they were put there to do. The only question there could be is if both high and low speeds are working and you will likely need a scan tool to find out. I have not read anything here that would make me suspect there is anything wrong.

The fans are controlled by the PCM using the same temperature monitor used for mixture control. There are no sensors dedicated to cooling fans.

That probably should have been one of the first things checked, but now you need to do a pressure test to locate the source of the leak.
