When I turn on the air it runs for a while then it goes off. I have to stop and lift the hood and tap on the resistor. It will only run on high.

There is a blower resistor by the blower motor that controls the speeds. It sounds like you have changed that already. If you did, check for voltage at the wires in the lower fan speeds.
If you have voltage check the connector at the resistor and the blower motor.
If you do not check all fuses in the fuse panel for power on both side with the key on

Hello,

It sounds like you have a bad ground for the blower motor can you use a test light and with the test light grounded and the system one touch the metal housing of the blower motor to see if it lights up?

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
