Welcome to 2CarPros.
An EVAP leak is not uncommon. However, locating the leak can be difficult without the right tooling.
First, and don't laugh, make sure the gas cap is on properly and good. If it doesn't hold pressure, it will cause an EVAP code. If it is good, here is what I suggest. Have the EVAP system smoke tested. Basically, at a very low pressure, smoke is injected into the system via a port under the hood. Wherever the leak is, smoke will come out.
I suggest this because there are several components and hoses that can leak. I don't know if it is a small leak, large leak, or something specific to an EVAP component. If you have the trouble code that is coming up, let me know. That way I can be more specific.
One last thing. Do you ever smell fuel? Also, if you are in an area where roads are treated in the winter and rust is an issue, it could even be the filler tube where you refuel.
Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.
Take care,
Joe
