My 1987 BMW 325is still has the r-12 A/C system and has just quit after 27 years. I have collected an exact replacement Denso 10P15E - 1 pulley compressor. However, the compressor has only a single wire to the clutch as it is grounded to the engine through the compressor (no problem to add a second wire). The problem is the dryer. The original dryer, which I have to replace is different from all the new ones. The old dryer has an electrical connection on the opposite side from the compressor clutch connection but there is no such connection on any new dryer I have been able to locate. Since I am having to convert fro r-12 to 134-A I am baffled about what to do about the electrical connection that is connected to the old dryer. Any help on the steps to install the new compressor, dryer and rewiring the electrical connection will be greatly appreciated.

I would say it is the high pressure cut out switch, you may be able to get an inline switch to fit to the dryer, look into this.
