A/C not blowing cold air

A/C not cold. Has worked for eight years no issue. Just stopped blowing cold air. Sounds like compressor is coming on with slight grinding sound. Has always had this sound. Replaced A/C sensor but no improvement. Freon full. I have 530i with no clutch. All in one unit. Any tests I can do before replacing compressor?

Yes, turn the system on full cool and let sit for two minutes, then feel the larger refrigerant tube (low side exiting the evaporator) to see if it is cold, if not and the system is full you probably have a bad compressor. To be sure here is a guide so you can check the high side pressure to confirm the failure and if so a guide to help you change out the compressor as well in the diagrams below:
