A/C FUSE KEEPS BLOWING

The blower, A/C, heater and rear wiper do not work at all. I tried changing the fuse, but it keeps blowing as soon as I turn the key, all other fuses are intact.

The car is a Kia cee'd 2008 BD59YEU

The fault original occurred when I put the battery terminal backwards and shorted some fuses. I managed to fix the alternator and radio fuse and they are working fine now. I also checked the heater resistor and that does not look blown or damages. It is just The blower, A/C, heater and rear wiper issues I have. I believe there might be a short somewhere just cannot find it.

Thanks,
Mo

If it keeps blowing you will have to put a circuit breaker and unplug things to rule out what is doing it. Then once you find the problem you'll have to see if it is drawing to many amps etc. Of course it could be a wiring grounding out against the engine block/body so check harnesses as well.

You can by a box of fuses and unplug each accessory one at a time, I would start with the AC compressor.

Please let us know what happens.

Best, Ken

Thanks for the replys, all the fuses seem to be good under the hood and footwell, the only fuse that was blown was under the footwell marked A/C 10A, but every time I attempt to turn the engine it blows, can't seem to figure it out

I did some digging and found a wiring diagram for you to look at, it seems like the 10 ac fuse goes to the ac control module. Please try to unplug it and retry the system.

Please let us know what happens.

Best, Ken

Thanks ken the diagram is going to be a great help, when you say "ac control module. Please try to unplug" do you mean the dials on the dash and remove the cables from behind the panel.

Thanks again
Mo

Yes that is what he means is the control panel for the a/c you can also have a mechanic scan for codes with his scanner to verify the problem.

A mechanic has to use his scanner it is a pro type it can read all the modules in a car not the ones that are sold in auto parts as they won't do it. If unplugging a module does not work then you have short in wires someplace hitting either body or engine. If anything was recently installed then check that as sometimes screws are put in dash to hold a switch and go through harness

I took it to a mechanic last week who removed all the codes that came up none of them were relevant to the issue, he checked again for new codes recently and nothing is coming up. So it just a matter of finding the short, the only things that I have changed was battery, cabin filter and air filter. I will check around those areas again for any shorts. Thanks again for you assistance in this matter, dont want to take it to the dealers just yet, otherwise I'll end up throwing money at it.

Hi ken I used above wire diagrams but mine looks different, the 10A/C Fuse also controls the alarm and rear wiper. So I need a diagram so I can isolate the issue I have also added the VIN NUMBER thanks again

From your description your car is not in US or Canada as most kia's here have larger engines. We are more than likely not to have the correct diagrams for that car as you have said the fuse controls alarm and rear wiper in US those are separate circuits.
