I need to replace the fan motor resistor

I need to replace the fan motor resistor. Is there a spray protectant I can use to prevent the corrosion that wont add resistance and wont be a fire hazard? Jack

use dielectric compound auto parts have them on counter for around $2.00. here is the location of the blower fan resistor and directions on how to change it out i the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.
