A/C does not work

My A/C does not work. I start the car and push the A/C button, it flashes and goes out and the A/C never comes on.

Often it is a case of low or no refrigerant due to a leak. So the first step is to get the system pressures checked. If system is low, a leak test must be done to locate and rectify the leak, if the system is low, do not just add refrigerant as it will only last a short time as it will not hold presser until the leak is located and rectified.
