My car starts off cold when I start driving to work. After nine to ten miles, the air turns hot. If I do not turn off the air, it will cool again after five minutes or so.

This cycle will repeat as I drive during the day.

Hey, it is 105 degrees F in Phoenix these summer days.

Likely some kind of climate control malfunction?

Hello,

It sounds like you have a problem with the level of Freon you have either too full or now enough. Here are three guides that will help you do some testing to confirm one or the other as the problem:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/air-conditioner-how-to-add-freon

and

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/re-charge-an-air-conditioner-system

or

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-air-conditioner-not-working-or-is-weak

If this checks out it could be a blend door actuator that is giving you trouble. Here is a guide for that as well:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/replace-blend-door-motor

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
