I have the SUV listed above LT model, VIN Z with front and rear A/C controls.

I changed out my A/C compressor clutch due to not turning. A/C was working fine. Two months later (now) the compressor is squealing while engine is running. Much like a power steering pump does when low on oil. I also noticed that I could not hear the clicking sound when the clutch engages.

Question 1; does the compressor just need oil or replaced? If need be I can record the sound but not sure if it would any justice.

Question 2; which A/C Compressor do I purchase? This is what I see but I am still confused as to which one is correct. Here is an example:
FitsGAS; Front; Dual Zone Climate Control with Automatic Controls (you can set a specific numeric temperature) (CJ2), Front; Dual Zone Climate Control with Manual Controls (blue/red dials only), Rear Auxiliary A/C (C69)
OrFLEX Fuel; Front; Dual Zone Climate Control with Automatic Controls (you can set a specific numeric temperature) (CJ2), Front; Dual Zone Climate Control with Manual Controls (blue/red dials only), Rear Auxiliary A/C (C69)

Question 3; The vacuum pump would this work https://www.harborfreight.com/air-vacuum-pump-with-r134a-and-r12-connectors-96677.html
OR
should I purchase this https://www.harborfreight.com/25-cfm-vacuum-pump-98076.html
OR
Just have a shop fill the R134A

I am sure I will have more questions I would prefer to do the work myself and learn than have some one do it for me.

Good evening.

Do you have automatic climate control?

Once I know I can find the compressor for you.

Hi Roy and thank you for your help. Honestly I am not sure. There are controls on the dash with numbers and temp for both driver and passenger and controls in the back seat. How would I tell? Or would the vin number help you out? 1GNEK13Z44J301037

Okay, that is automatic climate control.

Rock Auto has it for $139.00.

1. Clutch does not need oil. It is a dry running unit. The noise may be the belt slipping across the compressor from a bad tension-er.

2. The rock auto compressor will work.

3. Yes, that is good.

Thank you Roy

I appreciate your help. If I can ask another question or several, the A/C compressor from Rock Auto in the description it states this "Dual Zone Climate Control with Automatic Controls (you can set a specific numeric temperature) (CJ2), Front; Dual Zone Climate Control with Manual Controls (blue/red dials only), Rear Auxiliary A/C (C69)" What does this mean and which dials are they talking about? I know that you can set a numeric number for the front and dials on the ceiling to control the back. Then in that back seat it has a button style temp and video combo. So is this still the correct A/C compressor?

On a side note my wife has seizures and heat will bring them on and a service dog that goes with us. It is imperative that I make as little mistakes as possible. We live in Texas and right now it is 103 degrees so I have to make 100% sure that this is the correct compressor. (Not at all doubting your expertise)

This is the correct one. $139.00 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=436692&cc=1424247&jsn=564&jsn=564

Thank you Roy, you really are a huge help for this old shade tree mechanic. I would also like to post my gratitude on Facebook about you and 2carpros. Com. It is nice to see people helping people just to help. It is so awesome sauce. I would like to be able to pick your brain in the future about cars. I also have a 1980 Ford Bronco that I have to rebuild that motor and I have not rebuild a motor in thirty years.

Thank you again Sir.

Good Day Roy,

If possible I would like to ask a couple more questions on my ChevroletTahoe. I received the A/C Compressor, the orifice and o-rings. Can I go ahead and replace those now even though I have not the equipment to charge the system yet? Also, what is your expertise say about switching out the accumulator? I believe this is the correct one, https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=3914700&cc=1424247&jsn=566

Thank you again for your help it is greatly appreciated.

Yes, ask away.

The accumulator is a must to replace since you are opening the system. If you do not you will contaminate the old one which is most likely contaminated now anyway.
