I replaced the A/C compressor after the first one froze up. I replaced the dessicant in the Condenser, but not the expansion valve. I did use a vacuum pump on the system for an hour, and it seemed to hold up for 20 mins. My wife, who drives the car says the cooling is about 80% of its normal operation.

The main problem is that the compressor does not cycle on/off. I initially poured 4.25 oz. Of pag oil, per instructions. Then I attempted to put 15.88 oz of refrigerant into the system, as required. I lost count because of suspected gauge leaks or other (perhaps due to ineptness on my part). After, a couple of attempts, I used a simple store kit on the low side to fill one can of refrigerant R134a and a portion of a second one to approximate the 16 oz. Needed. The gauge was showing a reading of 30-37 after that. The high side was showing upwards of 150-250 pressure on a hot Florida day.

The Check Engine Light has been on for a while now, but did not see any faulty issues come up when I connected an Actron scanner to the car.

Any suggestions?

Have a pro scan it it may be a code that the scanner won't read. As far as a/c goes it may be the temp actuator not working correctly which you can check to see if it is getting power or not. You can try pulling hvac fuse inside car with key on for 60 seconds and then reinstalling it sometimes resets the actuators. If not then it will need to be scanned for codes by a pro to see if the control unit is sending a signal. Please report back with any codes.
