AC is not cooling. The compressor is engaging. I have charged it before. It usually lasts through the summer. I cannot remember if I charge from the high side or the low side. Please help.

All systems are charged through the low side. But before you charge it you may want to have it tested, many times the leaks are not that hard to repair once you know where they are. For instance it could be a bad o-ring or even a bad valve under the port caps. You could check for leaks yourself, add a dose of leak detection dye and a can of 134a, then use a UV light to look for the leak. You can buy a pretty good UV light online or even from WalMart (and other stores).
Search for Rayovac Value Bright 9-LED UV Flashlight.
