Good afternoon.

What turns off? The compressor or the blower motor?

That is the compressor.

You would need to check the Freon system. You will need a set of gauges to see if there is enough pressure in the system for it to work. If you do not have enough pressure, the system will switch off to protect the compressor.

I added two cans of Freon and the pressure gauge never moved, stayed at zero. The compressor was running. The dash still red A/C off.

Okay, the next step is you need a set of gauges to see what the pressures are on both the high and low side.

The gauge on the can is not telling us anything. You can rent a set of gauges at a parts store or you can buy a cheap set at Harbor Freight.

No, that does not tell me the high side that I need to see. You need a set that can read the high and low side pressures.

Air conditioning test gauges. You can rent them at a parts store.

You can also buy a set a Harbor Freight.
