Van stalls in reverse?

My van is running well but when I put it in reverse it immediately stalls, my other vehicle just quit running probably beyond reasonable repair, so I need this one to work and survive.
Please help.

Hi,

Is there anything you can do to keep it running? For example, if you slightly increase the engine RPMs, can you place it in reverse without stalling?

When you place it in drive, does it shift normally?

Also, have you checked for diagnostic trouble codes? If you haven't, that should be done. Most parts stores will do it free of charge.
