e4od transmission shifting issue

I purchased this truck for my son. When you put it in drive feels like it takes off in second gear and but if you but it in first and shift it manual the transmission shifts fine and feels strong. fluids are good and I installed a new shift solenoid in side the transmission, but still having the problem.

Good morning.

This transmission is a very troublesome transmission. it had all kinds of issues such as your complaint.

the issue with yours is the valve body. the downshift valve gets stuck in the valve body casusing this issue. you can try adding some valve body modifier to see if it helps, otherwise you are going to need to drop the valve body and clean it all out.
