Codes $7E8, $7E9, and flashing check engine light?

Check engine keeps flashing. Flashing then solid then repeats every few seconds. Shows as werorcides$7E8 and #7E9 on reader. One year ago, a similar error turned out to be a faulty injector.

Hi,

What you have, $7E8 & $7E9, are not codes. They are module addresses for the powertrain control module (PCM) and the transmission control module (TCM). Most codes retrieved will start with the letter P and be followed by 4 numbers. For example, P0301 indicates a cylinder one misfire.

Most times when the check engine light flashes, it indicates a misfire. I suspect the procedure you are using to retrieve codes is missing a step.
