I have previously went to AutoZone to check why my engine light has been on and I got told the code was P-0420 and I needed a new catalytic converter. I was also told that since my car is under warranty that I can get my catalytic converters replaced free of charge due to federal emissions law. Now that I told Honda I was filing a case because they would repair my car due to the title of my car they stated that the code that was wrong with my car is 61-11 I just want to know what that code is. They also never gave me any paper work to see the price or what actually I needed to get done so how do I know this is what’s actually wrong with my car?

Good morning,

Did the parts store clear the code? If they did, shame on them. That is why they will not do the repair.

The code is an ABS code and has no connection to the other code.

NOTE
- Initial Diagnosis:
The initial on-board diagnosis occurs right after the ignition switch is turned to ON (II), or engine start/stop button is pressed to select the ON mode, and the ABS/VSA indicator comes on, and continues until the indicator goes off.
- Regular Diagnosis:
The regular on-board diagnosis begins right after the ABS/VSA indicator goes off, and it continues until the ignition switch is turned to LOCK (0), or engine start/stop button is pressed to select the OFF mode.
- Review "How to troubleshoot the VSA system" before doing the DTC troubleshooting procedure.
- Test-drive the vehicle according to local traffic conditions and regulations. Do not test-drive on a lift unless specified.
- The possible causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Thank you so much. I knew that code they gave me had nothing to do with my check engine light. I have a feeling they don’t want to repair my catalytic converters even though it’s covered under federal emissions law.

Did they clear the code? Is the light still on?

You have an 8 year, 80,000 warranty on the converter. This is not an option for them not to repair it if the light is on and you fall in the 8 year 80,000 parameters.

No they didn’t clear the code and the light is still on. The reason they gave me to not fixing it is that my car has a rebranded title. I will be going back next time with probably a mechanic.

Okay, so you have a reconstructed title. That does negate the warranty.

Taking your mechanic will do nothing. That will change nothing at all. You will need to pay full price for the repair.
