I’m rebuilding a 5.3 Ls Chevy engine and I’m ready to install piston rings. I bought a set from Summit Racing part number CR8794. On the summit site in description, it says no file to fit. My question is, I have a stock engine how to figure out what my end gap should be for stock application? Or does no file fit mean I can just install rings? I’m using Hypereutectic pistons. I’ve read somewhere these need a bigger ring gap. What end cap be for the 3 ring for these pistons?

Thanks for any help on this topic.

Okay, I did the math for top.
Ring for Hypereutectic piston.0065 x 3.78 =.02475 should I use.024 or round up to.025?

If you are going to running it hard I would go with the.025 end gap.
