I Have changed the 4x4 switch, motor on the transfer case fixed a bad wire harness driver side kick panel, have vacuum at the two wheel and the four wheel solenoid pass side fire wall. Still do not have 4x4 no clicking/clunking/or engaging at all. Can put direct power to the motor on transfer case and it will engage. But not with the 4x4 switch. Does anyone have any other direction I can go?

Hello,

First let's test for power at fuses #29,13, 23 and 17. here is a guide to help and the wiring diagrams for the transfer case so you can see how it works. If the fuses have power I have seen the GEM module go out to cause this issue.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find.

Cheers, Ken

Okay, I have checked the fuses you mentioned above and have power at all of them. So my next step is to pull the GEM module but that will be this weekend. The question I have now is will the gem module out of a 2008/1999 Ford Expedition with a 5.4L work in my 1997 Ford F-150 with the 4.6L? Or will I need to flash the system? Thank you in advance.

I don't think you need to flash the GEM, if they are the same part number it will work.
