When I shift the 2nd gear selector for 4WD it does not want to engage to 2WD mode only. It will make a horrible grinding noise when driven on the streets with 4WD engaged.

Hi,

The vehicle should have a manual shift lever to engage and disengage the 4wd. I tried looking for a pic to help, but wasn't successful. Do me a favor. Make sure the vehicle is in park and the parking brake is engaged. Have a helper shift from 2 to 4wd while you check if the shift linkage is moving. Also, (it's been awhile) check to see if there is an adjustment on the shift rod. It may have come loose as well and preventing you from shifting.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,
Joe
