When shifted into four wheel drive my front passenger wheel locks up. It will go in reverse but not forward. When shifted back into two wheel drive it has to be driven in reverse for a few feet before the wheel will unlock going forward.

Check if the front axle shafts use outer CV joints or universal joints. What you're describing is the typical symptom of a binding universal joint at the spindle. Usually that will shove the steering wheel back to center when you try to turn either way and move forward or backward.

With four wheel disengaged. And I have backed up to unlock the system. When I turn right I get a wheel hop like the right wheel is still engaged. And sometimes ill start to turn and its not hopping. Then all of a sudden its like the front right engages and it starts to wheel hop. I have a manual shift 4 wheel drive system. How does this system works that would cause this.

The axle is engaged by vacuum from the engine. Check for leaks.

What about the front actuator? Is there a difference between the manual lever system and the 4x4 dash switch system? Another mechanic says it could be the front hub bearing.
