When car is cold it shifts fine, but when the weather is hot reverse and first slips. I have to rev motor up just a little then it catches and it grabs good, reverse has a erratic jerk or bounce to it. When weather is hot and driving at high speeds I could smell transmission fluid, I would see a cloud or smoke in rear view mirror. I pull over and I notice transmissions fluid on valve cover near transmissions dipstick. A friend of mine helped me rebuild transmissions about a year ago and when I installed servo I pinched reverse servo so I installed old servo.

Good evening.

Did you check the fluid level to be sure it is not overfilled?

Check the vent at the top of the transmission as well for being blocked with dirt.

I would start by dropping the pan and changing the fluid and filter. Check the pan for any debris.

When it works, does it work correctly?

Are there any codes?

The fluid was perfect except for the amount it burped out of the transmission dipstick. I already dropped the pan and absolutely no debris of any kind, no shavings. I am going to check the breather today, the fluid was burnt and I did add a separate transmission cooler because scanner was saying that oil was too hot. My buddy is not in town at the moment and he is the one with the professional scan tool. I already ordered the reverse servo, but I wanted to see if there is a way to check electric parts in transmission? (Solenoids)

Yes. You need the scan tool to monitor the transmission solenoid operation. That's how you check them.
