When I was driving through town maybe 15km/h suddenly drivetrain malfunction came up on idrive system. I scanned the car and came back with these three codes:

164031 - Exhaust-camshaft sensor: signal low
120408 - Charging pressure control, switch-off: pressure build-up blocked
164030 - Exhaust camshaft sensor, signal: Short circuit to B+

I don’t know what to do. Has anyone gotten these before?

Hello,

Codes 164030 and 164031 points to a possible exhaust camshaft sensor issue.
As the intake and exhaust camshaft sensors are identical you could try and swap these side to side and see if the fault moves to the intake camshaft.

How to, a good video:

Fault code 120408 should be a collateral code due to the DME not knowing the exhaust camshaft location.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Boris
