I hear transfer case engage and feel change in 4lo to gear ratio, but trying to climb a slight grade icy hill back tires spin front do not seem to be engaged in either 4hi or 4lo. Would the vacuum actuator cause this? Or could this be more serious?

Hey ELMER_S10,

there is an actuator that bolts to the side of the transfer case that can be bad which is a big problem on these trucks, here is a diagram on the location to help you get the prob,en fixed.

Let me know what happens so it will help others.
