I am rebuilding a muscle car and going to give it more horsepower. It currently has stock brakes. Would adding disc brakes to the rear help stop my car faster?

Adding disc brakes to the rear would not only help shorten the braking distance, the lighter weight compared with drums would also help acceleration and fuel economy. Reducing un-sprung weight and rotating mass helps performance.
