A couple weeks back, our parked MDX 2006 was hit on the drivers door. The collision shop used another used door from another MDX. We are now having problems and the shop is already making comments to insinuate it was pre-existing and nothing they did.
Here are the new issues that I've noticed hours after picking up our car.
1- the auto headlight feature isn't working. When set on auto, it senses when dark and turns on. Problem, the lights stay on and won't shut off after engines off and cars locked and security on.
2- The security system is acting up. The security system is automatically arming itself. When doors are open, security turns on and the doors lock. This happens within a couple min of unlocking car. - in past if I unlocked car w key fab but didn't open the door, it would relock and arm. Now it does it after I open the door and both, keep door open and close door w me sitting inside.
3- the last door we had would let me press quickly on the windows control and it would roll down with out me needing to hold it down. Now, the feature is missing and I have to hold it down.. I really enjoyed the convenience and wondering what's the deal?
All issues sound like maybe a wiring situation? Can they all be related to the replacement of the door? Do you agree the auto repair shop should be accountable diagnose and repair these issues?
Thank you so much in advance. I take it back in next week to have them access the issues. I don't want them trying to get out of fixing them...
