Your menu did not have a choice for TLX, only a TL so I selected TL, but my vehicle is a 2020 TLX 4cyl with 8 speed dual clutch transmission. The owner's manual does not give a procedure on how to check the transmission fluid level after a change. I changed the fluid and checked the level using the inspection port on the front of the transmission, but I want to make sure I followed the correct procedure since none was given. Is there a transmission temperature at which the level should be checked? I have a scan tool that reads transmission temperature, but I didn't use it. I filled the transmission until the fluid trickled out of the inspection port with engine warm and running after I shifted through the gears a few times. Is that correct?

Yes, that sounds correct and thanks for the model update, I added it to our database. Here are the instructions on how to change and check the transmission fluid:

Dual clutch transmission fluid
Acura Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF Type 2):
Always use Acura ATF Type 2.
NOTE: Using the wrong type of fluid will damage the transmission.

1.Start the engine, and warm it up to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on twice).

2.Turn the engine off.

NOTE: In order to refill the ATF for the proper quantity, refill the ATF as soon as possible after draining.

1.Remove the filler plug (A) with the sealing washer (B).

2.Remove the drain plug (C) with the sealing washer (D), and drain the ATF until the ATF starts to drip after pouring.

NOTE: Remove metal particles from the magnetic surface of the drain plug.

3.Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer.

4.Refill the transmission with the recommended fluid into the filler plug hole (E) until the ATF overflows. Always use Acura ATF TYPE 2.

NOTE:There are two types of transmission; Type A and Type B. Type B has the rib (F). Be careful of the transmission fluid capacity in reference to the following list.

Using the wrong type ATF can affect shift quality.

6.Lower the vehicle.

7.Start the engine.

8.While pressing the brake pedal firmly, shift in turn the transmission to P-R-N-D-N-R-P position-mode, and wait for at least 3 seconds to each position/mode.

9.Turn the engine off.

10.Raise the vehicle.

11.Remove the filler plug (A) with the sealing washer (B).

12.Make sure the ATF is dripped from the filler plug hole (C).

If the ATF is pouring, wait until the ATF is slightly dripping from the filler plug hole.

If no ATF is coming out of the filler plug hole, add the ATF into the filler plug hole until the ATF overflows, then wait until the ATF is slightly dripping from the filler plug hole.

13.Reinstall the filler plug with a new sealing washer.

Here is how to reset the maintenance light reminder.

The vehicle must be stopped to reset the Maintenance Minder.

If a required service is done and the Maintenance Minder is not reset, or if the Maintenance Minder is reset without doing the service, the system will not show the proper maintenance timing. This can lead to serious mechanical problems because there will be no accurate record of when the required maintenance is needed.

The engine oil life and maintenance item(s) can be independently reset with the HDS.

You can reset the engine oil life display using the audio/information screen.

1.Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

2.Select the "Vehicle Settings" or "VEHICLE SETTINGS" screen by rolling the right multi-function steering wheel controller, and then push it.

3.Select "Maintenance Info." or “MAINTENANCE INFO.” using the right multi-function steering wheel controller, then push it. The "Maintenance Reset" or "MAINTENANCE RESET" oil life reset mode is appears on the multi-information display.

NOTE:If you are resetting the Maintenance Minder when the engine oil life is more than 15 percent, make sure any maintenance item(s) requiring service are done before resetting the display. To cancel the oil life reset mode, select "Cancel" or "CANCEL," then push the right multi-function steering wheel controller.
