My truck is the Lariat Edition. The sunroof was working fine until last evening. The back portion of the sliding panel is sitting slightly lower than the back, non sliding panel. The close button tries to move the sunroof but does nothing and the tilt/open buttons are not working whatsoever when I press them.

The open and tilt functions where working fine, minus a little sticking when the tilt option was chosen.

I can upload a video/pictures in the AM but wanted to get this posted. I’m assuming I will need to go to a dealership but hoping not.

Pictures or a video would help. However, I suspect the motor has failed or is binding and now stuck.

There is a chance that you could just adjust the panel and it will be fine but if not you will most likely have to stop taking things apart to find out what is going on.

Below is all the info on adjusting the panel.

If this does not work, let us know and we can dig deeper but again, I suspect we are going to have to start dropping the head liner and find out what is happening in there.

See pictures attached. May need to flip the 180 degrees.

This is after I dropped my truck off at Ford and was informed the guides may be the issue and would cost $350.00. I was also told that if that didn’t fix the issue that my only other option was to get a whole new track system which would cost $3,100.00. I asked if the sunroof was still sealed with a small gap on the corners and was told yes which was a complete lie based on the images. I was hopeful to hold off on getting this fixed immediately but appears that will not be the case.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks.

Have you water tested it to find out if it is sealed? They can seal even though the glass is not lined up. It is hard to orient the pictures to know for sure if that is sealed or not.

As for the repair, that is not surprising that they said it would need the entire assembly. Most mechanics at dealerships are not very good at these repairs.

It would be worth wire having a body shop that has a good sunroof technician working there take a look at it.

Clearly you would have to call around but it does look like a guide issue but I would think it can be adjusted which is why another opinion would help
