The vehicle listed above is the High-Altitude Edition.

Electronic Throttle Control Light is on. I have replaced the Throttle Body and the gas pedal, and it is still on.

I do not have a problem with power, and I can drive 100 mph on the highway if I want to with no issues.

One big noticeable issue is a shudder when shifting.

The car has an automatic transmission.

The Code that appears on the checker is P2123 and it will not clear from the device, the throttle body will not reset using the startup/hold gas pedal technique, and the code will not clear when trying to erase it with the checker.

Also, even if I take the battery cable off the Electronic Throttle Control Light comes back on immediately when I put the battery cable back on. It's not something that the engine needs to deem bad after driving x number of miles. It knows immediately.

Lastly, as a by-product my cruise control, remote start, and auto-stick (being able to manually shift an automatic transmission) all do not work anymore.

I'm going to guess this is an ECM issue, but I'd like some feedback before I purchase a new one as it isn't cheap.

The P2123 code in a 2017 Jeep Patriot indicates an issue with the "Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch 'D' Circuit High." So, the problem is in the wiring from the PCM to the accelerator pedal. I would remove the electrical connector and check the pins to see if one of them has pulled out from the connector. If not, here is a guide to help check the connections and the wiring diagrams so you can see which wires to test:

Most of the time replacing the accelerator pedal will fix the problem FYI. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I was driving the car one night and everything was fine, and when I went to drive it the next day the light came on and hasn't turned off since.

Do you this is an ECM issue? I think that is the issue.

I would check the connections first and if okay I would replace the ECM, you can get a preprogrammed unit by searching Google or Ebay. Here is the location and how to change it out. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Hi Ken,
Yes, I ordered a new ECM and that fixed the problem. Everything is running smooth and my car was able to pass inspection.

Thank you again for your help!
