I just bought a new Mazda 3 . There is no mention in the owners manual about automatic transmission fluid replacement . I assume Mazda wants us to believe that the fluid is for the life of the car, but if so I don't trust this. On my previous car, Honda Civic I had the transmission flushed because the color was very dark, and I immediately noticed an improvement , especially when crawling at 2-3 mph. I plan on keeping my Mazda for at least 8 years. Should I have it flushed in about 4 years , or am I being overly cautious?

most newer cars today have no provision for checking trans fluid. A mechanic has to do it so in 4 years you can have it checked or changed but it really depends on mileage etc. We have no info on the 2015 models yet. Your manual may say something about when to change or maybe not as it may have been omitted. You can call your dealer to check however.
