My car has a factory stereo system with Bluetooth capabilities. Not sure if the Bluetooth is within the stereo system or if its own component. Every time I connect to the Bluetooth using my Samsung phone, it blows the 5amp fuse. The Bluetooth has worked fine for the last two years without any issues. Has anyone had this issue before? Can anyone give me some insight on this issues? Thank you.

Normally Bluetooth issues are compatibility issues. However, if you have a fuse blowing then we have a short most likely in the control module.

I assume that the fuse that is blowing is the fuse 18 in the fuse block shown below?

If this is the case then the cause is either the telephone transceiver, cell phone operating module, or the emergency calling module.

What we need to do is unplug one at a time and see when the fuse stops blowing. I suspect it is the transceiver so I would start with this one.

Then we need to replace the fuse again.

I attached the info below on this. However, once you unplug this, I suspect you will not be able to connect via Bluetooth any longer.

So I would start with other modules and connect the phone and see if the fuse still blows.

I attached all the info below for your review. Please let us know what you find. Thanks
