Instrument cluster swap

I just got the most basic version of the car listed above (standard transmission, no electric window regulators, etc), currently the cluster of the car doesn't have a tachometer among other things, and I would like to get it replaced by the one with a built-in tachometer.

I did an internet search and found that the type of cluster that my car currently has is the Nissan P/N: 248109KA0B and the one I would like to install in my car is the Nissan Part Number: 248109KA0A.

I did attached some reference pics for better understanding, but I just need some advice to make sure that it's going to work and since I'm planning on purchasing a used cluster I also want to make sure that is going to show my actual car mileage and not the other car mileage.

I attached the info that you need to swap out the clusters. From what I can tell you should be fine with swapping it in. However, you may need to have the sales code added by the dealership if this doesn't just work. Clearly this is not a typical repair but I find no info that says this will not fit or not operate. The way this works is the ECM sends the RPM signal to the cluster via the communication network. So if the cluster gets the signal whether it has the gauge or not so it should operate.

Before you proceed, I would contact the dealer and make sure they have the ability to add the sales code if needed.

I just have a question about your comments: I'm not quite sure of what the "sales code" means? can you please clarify that?

Sorry that is dealer terms. Your vehicle is equipped with all different kinds of components and in order for the computers on the vehicle to know what it has it needs to have a specific sales code.

Take for example a radio. There could be up to 5 different radios that can be equipped into the same vehicle and the computer knows how to operate all of them but we need to tell it what radio it has. So they assign a code to it and that code will tell the computers which radio it has so that it operates it properly.

Does that make sense?

Absolutely. I would just call them before you proceed and tell them that you are doing this and ask if there is a sales code or if you can just swap it and not need any programming or sales code added.
