The kid was driving the car down a hill and put it in neutral going about 60 MPH. He coasted for a bit and dropped it back in gear and now it has problems moving. It seems that its lacking power in the drive train

Shifting to neutral shouldn't have hurt anything. Describe what is happening. Does it seem the clutch is slipping, the engine has lost power...?

Ok so know that I have been a little more about this specific issue and had some time to check it. I am able to start it and run it but it will die and not start until it cools off. I guess I am going to have to determine whether it's spark or fuel. Any common issues to be aware of on this model. Thanks in advance and again for your time. I appreciate it.

Nothing specific. You're right. We need to determine if the problem is spark or fuel. If fuel, you need to check if the pump is getting power after warmed up. If spark, my first guess is the crank sensor.
