I had an filter and oil change recently. The friend put 6 qts. of oil. I drove it home which was about 30 miles. When I got home, I was a little concerned that the person had put too much oil in the van. When I looked into it further, I was correct. It called for 4.5 qts. My concern is could this cause damage to my van?
I haven't driven it since this discovery. My plan is to remove all the oil and put in the correct amount. I'm currently waiting a warmer day to do this. Which will happen this Tuesday, but I still concerned about any damage. Most of those 30 miles were at a speed around 65 mph.

Yes you can do damage with to much oil, crank case pressure can go up and start to blow oil seals, get the excess drained ASAP.
