Good day,

I wonder whether is is a good idea to spray mudguards from inside with WD40 or lightly spread a thin layer of bearing grease, in order to protect from ice build-up during the winter. Logically, if mudguards are covered with water-repelling chemical, ice should not build-up as well. The question is also, it may do the job against ice, but would attract dirt and dust and look ugly? Or probably WD40 or grease might even damage plastic and/or paint?

Thank you in advance.

The oil is going to attract dirt and dust. As far as helping against ice, it may help a little but will not keep all ice from building up on the mud flaps.

Thank you. This is just an idea I had. Would you have any other suggestion? Thanks again.
